# Frequently asked *questions.*

What people ask us most, with short and exact answers. If something is missing, the connector documentation has the details.

## Can it read my messages?

No. ConnectYourGPT has no tool to read chats or replies, so your AI has no way to ask for them.

## Can ChatGPT send WhatsApp messages for me?

With a connector, yes. As far as we know, ChatGPT doesn’t come with a way to send from your number. With ConnectYourGPT, you add it to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server, link your WhatsApp with a QR code and ask it to write to someone. We tested it end to end on ChatGPT Plus, on the web; other plans and the mobile app, not yet, and we haven’t found this option documented for Plus in OpenAI’s help pages: OpenAI could change it. The steps are in [Install in ChatGPT](https://connectyourgpt.com/en/chatgpt).

## Can Claude send WhatsApp messages from my number?

With a connector, yes. As far as we know, Claude doesn’t come with a WhatsApp connection. With ConnectYourGPT, you add its address to Claude’s connectors, link your WhatsApp with a QR code and ask it to write to someone: the message goes out from your number. It works on any Claude plan, including the free one. The steps are in [Install in Claude](https://connectyourgpt.com/en/claude).

## Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?

No. ConnectYourGPT connects as a linked device, just like WhatsApp Web: you scan a QR code with your phone and it sends from your usual number, with no templates and no Meta developer account. In exchange, it isn’t an official connection. If you need one, or you’ll send at scale, the official route is the WhatsApp Business API.

## Is it for campaigns or mass messaging?

No. It’s for your everyday messages, to people who already know you, and WhatsApp blocks people who send in bulk. There are limits that can’t be bypassed: 40 messages an hour, 150 a day and 15 new people a day (50 and 5 in the first 72 hours after linking), and the same text to at most 5 people in 24 hours.

## What is stored?

The text of what your AI sends, for 30 days; after that, who and when remain, without the text, with a fingerprint that doesn’t let anyone read it. If it carries a photo or a PDF, the file’s name, type, size, a fingerprint and the website it came from are kept for the same 30 days, and its link, encrypted, only while it waits to go out. Also your account and your WhatsApp number, the drafts your AI prepares (until a day after they expire), your address book, the AIs you connected, some daily usage counters and the keys WhatsApp needs to send; the WhatsApp connection also keeps a send log without text (7 days), and the database is backed up encrypted every night (backups rotate out after 14 days). The messages you receive are not stored, nor any photo, audio or file itself, nor profile names or your chat settings. The item-by-item list is in the connector documentation, and the legal detail, in the privacy notice.

## Can my number get blocked?

It can happen. ConnectYourGPT connects as a linked device, like WhatsApp Web, but it is not an official connection, and WhatsApp blocks people who send in bulk. That is why there are limits that cannot be skipped. Use it for your everyday messages, not for campaigns.

## Can it send something without me knowing?

Sending takes two steps: prepare and send. In between, the connector tells your AI to show you the recipient and the full text and wait for your yes. Everything it sends stays in your history, and anything still waiting in the queue can be cancelled.

## Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes, on ChatGPT Plus: we tested it end to end on the web, and it sends. You add it as a custom MCP server; the steps are in [Install in ChatGPT](https://connectyourgpt.com/en/chatgpt). We haven’t tested the other plans (Free, Go, Pro, Business, Enterprise) or the mobile app yet, and we haven’t found this option documented for Plus in OpenAI’s help pages: OpenAI could change it. With Claude it works on every plan, including the free one.

## Does it work on my phone?

Yes, once it’s set up: after that you can also use it from the Claude mobile app (we haven’t tested the ChatGPT one yet). To set it up you need a second screen (a computer or tablet) to open the dashboard and scan its QR code with your phone, like WhatsApp Web. The connector is added from Claude on the web or in the desktop app, or from ChatGPT on the web.

## Can it send photos, audio or documents?

Text, up to 4096 characters, and, with a direct (https) link, one photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB) or one PDF (up to 25 MB) per message, with the text as its caption (up to 1024 characters). A file only goes to someone in your phone’s contacts or who already got a message from you through ConnectYourGPT, and the same file to 5 people at most in 24 hours. No audio; no Word, Excel or PowerPoint either.

## Can it post WhatsApp statuses?

Yes, text statuses or a photo (JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB, by a direct link), in the same two steps as a message: your AI shows you the text, tells you which photo it is and which site it comes from (it can’t see it, so it asks you to open the link), which number it will go out from and how many of your address-book contacts are synced (in the first minutes after linking, that number can fall short), and waits for your yes. Who sees it is set by your phone’s status privacy setting: “Only share with…” limits it best. With “My contacts” a status may still reach someone you deleted after linking, and with “My contacts except…” the exclusion isn’t guaranteed. Who saw it is never known: ConnectYourGPT doesn’t read. Up to 4 in 24 hours (2 in the first 72 h; removing one doesn’t free a place), and you can remove one within its 24 hours (one whose outcome is unknown, only from the phone). An AI you connected before has to reconnect to ask for that permission.

## How do I disconnect my AI?

In your ConnectYourGPT dashboard, under “Connected AIs”, you can see every AI that has permission and disconnect it; from then on it can’t use any tool. Removing the connector only in your AI does not revoke the permission. And if you unlink your WhatsApp, no AI can send anything.

## Is ConnectYourGPT made by OpenAI?

No. “GPT” is the generic name of this AI technology. ConnectYourGPT is an independent service: it is not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Meta.

## How much does it cost?

349 MXN a month, in Mexican pesos, with Mercado Pago: by card, no account needed, or with your balance if you have an account. Cancel anytime, and it keeps working until the end of the month you paid for.

## Do I need a Mercado Pago account?

No. You pay with your credit or debit card and an email for the receipt. If you have an account, you can also sign in with it and pay with your balance; in that case, use that account’s email. Mercado Pago may make a small charge to validate your card, and says it refunds it. Without an account, changing your card means canceling and subscribing again.

## Is there a free trial?

Yes: 3 days or 20 messages sent, whichever comes first, no card needed. One per account and per WhatsApp number, only if you’ve never had a subscription and with your account email verified. It starts when you link your WhatsApp, and all of it falls within the warm-up period of the first 72 hours: up to 5 new people a day.

## What happens to my data if I cancel?

It keeps working until the end of the month you paid for. 14 days after it ends, everything is deleted except your empty account, your payment history and the record of what you accepted, each kept for its own period (privacy notice, section 7); what is deleted disappears from the backups as they rotate.
