# ConnectYourGPT in ChatGPT, *screen by screen.*

Each step with its screenshot, for anyone who prefers to see it before doing it. Done in ChatGPT Plus, in the browser. The short version is in [the ChatGPT guide](https://connectyourgpt.com/en/chatgpt).

Screenshots from November 2, 2026 (the permission screen, from November 3), all in Spanish, including our own dashboard, which you’ll see in English. In Claude and ChatGPT the button names in the text are our translation: yours may differ, so look for the one in the same place. Names and the QR code are examples, and phone numbers are covered. These AIs change their menus from time to time: if something doesn’t match, look for the button that does the same thing.

## First: your account and your WhatsApp

1. **Create your account** — Go to `connectyourgpt.com/registro` from a computer or tablet. Read the notice and tick the box: the form to create your account with your email or with Google then appears.

2. **Open the WhatsApp screen** — In the dashboard, go to [WhatsApp](https://connectyourgpt.com/whatsapp) and click `Show the QR code`.

3. **Scan the code with your phone** — On your phone: WhatsApp → **Linked devices** → **Link a device**, and point the camera at the code on your screen. It’s like opening WhatsApp Web.

![The code in this image is an example: yours appears in your dashboard and renews itself.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/comun-3-qr.png)
4. **Your number shows as connected** — The page updates by itself as soon as you scan. You can now connect your AI.

## In ChatGPT

We haven’t tested other plans or the mobile app yet, and OpenAI may change it. The plugin’s page warns that ChatGPT may share relevant chats and memories with this app, and what this connection brings in may be used to improve its models if you have its option to improve the model for everyone turned on. It’s explained in [the ChatGPT guide](https://connectyourgpt.com/en/chatgpt).

1. **Open the plugins section** — In chatgpt.com, click the plugins item in the sidebar (or go straight to `chatgpt.com/plugins`). In our screenshots it reads `Complementos`.

![ChatGPT’s sidebar, with the plugins item highlighted.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-1-complementos.png)
2. **Add your own server** — Click the add button at the top right and choose the option to `add a custom MCP server`.

![The add button and its open menu.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-2-anadir.png)
3. **Fill in the form** — For the name, type ConnectYourGPT. Under the connection, leave `server URL` selected and paste `https://api.connectyourgpt.com/mcp`. Leave authentication on `OAuth`, as it comes; the icon and description are optional. Tick `the box saying you understand` and click `create as a plugin`.

4. **Connect** — ChatGPT shows you what it can share with the app. Read it and click `connect ConnectYourGPT`.

   ![ChatGPT’s window before connecting.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-4-conectar.png)
5. **Give permission** — ChatGPT takes you to the ConnectYourGPT permission screen. If asked, sign in with your account. Read what it will be able to do and what it never will, check that the permission goes to `chatgpt.com` and click **Allow**.

6. **Call it in a chat** — In a chat, type `@` and choose ConnectYourGPT from the list.

![The list that appears when you type the at sign. The sentence next to it is the plugin’s optional description: if you leave it empty, it doesn’t appear.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-6-selector.png)
7. **Ask for your first message** — For example: “Text Ana Ruiz that the appointment is tomorrow at 10.” ChatGPT shows you who and what, and asks you to confirm with `yes, send` or `cancel`.

![The draft: recipient, phone number and message, not sent yet.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-7-borrador.png)
8. **See what it tells you** — ConnectYourGPT can’t check your yes: it only asks ChatGPT for it. ChatGPT may also ask whether to `allow it once` or `always` before sending: once is the most careful choice. “Sent” means WhatsApp accepted it, not yet that it reached the phone: if you want to know, ask a little later.

## If something isn’t working

- **I want to remove the plugin from ChatGPT** — In the plugins section, under `personal`, open ConnectYourGPT, click `manage` and then `uninstall`. That removes it from ChatGPT, but it doesn’t withdraw its permission: you do that in the dashboard, as explained below.

![The plugin’s settings, with the uninstall button highlighted.](https://connectyourgpt.com/guia/capturas/chatgpt-9-ajustes.png)

## If you change your mind

In the ConnectYourGPT dashboard, under **Connected AIs**, you see each AI that has permission. To cut it off, click **Disconnect** and confirm. From that moment it can’t use any tool. Removing the connector only in your AI doesn’t withdraw its permission.
