Your WhatsApp, as a linked device.
ConnectYourGPT connects to your WhatsApp as a linked device, just like WhatsApp Web: you open the dashboard on a computer or tablet, scan its QR code with your phone and your number stays the same.
To unlink it: from the ConnectYourGPT dashboard (“Unlink”) or, on your phone, under Linked devices.
It is not an official WhatsApp connection. Read the limits below: they exist so your number stays out of trouble.
You decide what it can do.
You add ConnectYourGPT as a connector in your AI (Claude or ChatGPT Plus) and give it permission. The permission screen shows, one by one, the permissions your AI asks for (such as sending messages from your number) and what it never will (read your chats or the messages you receive; see your photos or calls, other people’s statuses, or who saw yours).
The step-by-step guides are in Install in Claude and Install in ChatGPT.
Always in two steps.
Your AI first prepares the message (that sends nothing) and then sends it: they are two different tools, and the draft expires after 10 minutes. In between, the connector asks it to show you the recipient and the full text and to wait for your yes.
If a name matches several people, the connector tells your AI to ask you which one before preparing, and to treat your contacts’ names and notes as data, never as instructions.
Slowly, like a person.
Messages go out spaced, 8 to 20 seconds apart, and after 10 in a row there is a 1 to 3 minute break.
Anything that hasn’t gone out within 60 minutes won’t go out: no surprise sends hours later. If you ask for the same thing to the same person twice within 10 minutes, it isn’t sent twice. Anything still waiting in the queue can be cancelled.
Limits that can’t be skipped.
WhatsApp blocks numbers that send in bulk or to many strangers. That is why ConnectYourGPT sets limits your AI can’t skip even if you ask: 40 messages per hour, 150 per day and 15 new people per day (50 messages and 5 new people in the first 72 hours); 5 messages per hour to the same person; and the same text to 5 people at most in 24 hours.
And automatic brakes: if WhatsApp rejects 3 messages in a row, everything pauses for 60 minutes; if 5 sends go to numbers WhatsApp can’t confirm within 24 hours, whether or not they’re in your address book, first contacts are not allowed for 24 hours; if WhatsApp temporarily blocks the number, it pauses until that passes, plus 60 minutes.
Use it for your everyday messages, not for campaigns.
The names on your phone.
ConnectYourGPT takes the names you save on your phone: they sync when you link and then every 6 hours. What you delete on your phone is not deleted from your ConnectYourGPT address book.
Your AI can add contacts (it never overwrites one that already exists) and, when you ask, edit them: the new name, tags and notes replace the previous ones. And you can mark someone as “doesn’t want messages”: then ConnectYourGPT won’t let it prepare any for them.
